Also do u think these turnigy motors 36-74-1900kv and 36-65-2200kv can handle 5s if temps are kept low by not over proping or is 15vts the max as they have printed in their stats?thanks

They are not from the same manufacturer.
"Why are the part numbers so similar"?
My friend once owned a Rolex, while visiting New York one day, a street peddler tried to sell him the same watch for $50 bucks, when he paid 3k for his. In amazement, he tried the watch on, the only difference was the street peddlers watch was called a Lorex. :-)
Moral of the story. There are copies of everything out there. It all depends on how much you value the original. And if you do value the original, than buy NEU!

Thanks Howard, i feel i made a good choice in ordering these motors 36-65-2200kv and the 36-74-1900 kv...How was the power on take offs with these motors? Also how big is the fast tech boat in comparison to the aquacraft motley crew?Originally posted by Howard View PostI have two Turnigy xk3665-2100 and a xk3665-2300. I ran the 2100 in my fastech with 5 cells no problem (51mph) I ran the 2300 in my modified shockwave 26 with 4 cells no problems (46.0 mph) both motors ran cool.

thats over 33,000 loaded rpm and almost 40,000 unloaded rpm. A 2100kv motor with 5s and x642 should be pushing a small proboat forumla to well over 60mph. Try a smaller prop.Steven Vaccaro

Thanks Howard...Yes i have 7 FE boats now...and i have a surge crusher on 5s which has that muscle car power u talk about...and i love it...in actual fe racing not sure it is at all necessary though..Originally posted by Howard View PostPower was awesome off the line. I stood straight up (did a wheelie) with my shockwave and flipped it the first time I gunned it. Take it easy on the throttle at first or else. The fastech is about 29 ins but it is a V as the motley is a cat.

Steve, probabely means just a little smaller pitch or diameter or both...Pitch and diameter reduction = less strain on everything and motor can acheive maxium rpm without working so hard...maybe your prop is not spinning to its full potencial...But then again u say nothing gets hot,so this tells me u are not over proping...maybe tweaking the out drive and cg,scuffing bottom might add the extra speed steve is talking about...But if u already have everything set right..i would think adding a couple of degrees in pitch would make boat hit that 60mph mark..but then i am a novice, most of what i learned so far is from trial and a lot of error...But again Batteries are a big game changer also...if u are using decent 30c packs and change to very good 50c packs u could easily gain another 4-5mph without changing anything else....Good luckOriginally posted by Howard View PostI'm not sure when Steve mentions a "smaller prop" does he mean diameter or pitch smaller. Does anyone know?

I have both the HK 5692 1320KV & a Leopard 5693 1340KV. Haven't ran the HK version yet, but here a few specs:
HK T5692 1320KV: 870grams, 8mm shaft, unknwn ball bearings, vented can, $80.
Leopard 5692 1340KV: 963 grams, 7mm shaft, Japanese ball bearings, non-vented can, $158 (and rising).
I'll be testing both motors in my Aeromarine Avenger cat in a few weeks, and I'll submitt the data form my Castle HYDRA ICE-2 200 HV after this build is completed & tested. I'd test both in my 56" Segad (72+ MPH with a 5692 1090KV at last year's SAWs) & single motor, but it's squirley enough with it's strudder setup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPZGtssIXyQ, so gonna rebuild it with twin 5692 1320s with stinger drives.
