need motor advice!!!!!!!!

im getting a outrigger 31 inch and need some advice on what kv motor and what size esc to use and also what prop i will be running two 3s 3200mah 35c lipo packs (6s) im trying to be close to or faster than 60 mph all help would be appreciated very much thanks

Most people sleep at night dude....

How much do you want to spend? You could use an SV27 motor (1500 Kv) and about any 150-amp controller capable of handling 6S. With an m445 or x642 you'll have over 60. A better choice - it the motor fits - would be a Leopard 3674/1400 Kv motor and props up to an m545. Or you can go a Neu 1515/1.5Y, same props. You'll still have to rig the boat correctly, a poor setup will not make 60.

I'm thinking of getting the JAE21fe rigger prebuilt and putting in a Neu1512 1y 2750kv motor in it with a etti navy race 150 w bec this esc is rated for 2-5 lipos and in the zipp kits site this motor should get you close to 80mph with prop work, I might rethink the ESC so I can run 6s if room allows and also install ubec.this setup according to my figures will go around 685.96 plus shipping, this is everything needed to put this boat togeather which in addition to the motor and ESC would be a motor mount,the JAE 21fe hardware kit and a new controler, I looking at the spektrum dx3e 3ch, props would be m445,m545 for starters, batterys not included in this pricing, what do you folks think?

I would go with both a higher C rating and mah if you could.

so now im wondering if i should go with higher kv motor and less volts or lower kv and more volts. whats a safer bet????

Going from my experience, a lower kv with higher volts is the ticket. Less heat and more fun!

Volts*amps= watts. so if two motors are trying to achieve the same wattage, the one with lower voltage will draw more amps, so a lower KV is better, just thought you might want to know why.

I have seen what boaterguy has said many times before. I am not sure where this came from but the notion that a motor is trying to acheive its wattage is not all that true with respect to the fact that a different kv will have different torque, thus capable of spinning different prop sizes. If someone can get me a link of where this came from that would be great.

I simply suggested going with a lower kv bc it is better for the esc IMO.

there are a lot of factors and I don't want to get into a big debate about it, just stick with a lower KV as it will be better.
