What MOTOR? Feigao? Neu? Leopard? etc? That is what determines where you want the timing set.Mini Cat Racing USA

I would keep at 15*Originally posted by 57burb View PostI'm also interested to know. I have a Neu 1515 1Y. I've run it at 18* and 22* but it doesn't seem to be any faster than at 15*. But the run times are shorter and temps are MUCH warmer with the higher advance settings. Thanks.

Too high. Some run that motor at ZERO-5 degrees. 15 degrees is as far as you want to go. The higher the timing, the shorter the runs and the temps go up.
I run the 1515 1Y at 8-10 degrees
This is direct from Steve Neu:
Suggested controller settings when using the CC125 and CC180 controller.
Set cutoff to 4 volts (option 2)
Disable current limit (option 5)
Brake type: Hard brake, no delay (option 4)
Throttle type: Fixed throttle (option 2)
Advance: Low advance timing (option 3)
Cutoff Type: Soft cutoff (option 2)
Soft Start: Fast start (option 3)
PWM Switching Rate: 13 kHz (option 1)
