HiFei and Swordfish issues
Hi Guys,
I have a couple of swordfish ESC bought through OSE.
The first, a 240HV Pro + and a 220 + (both with Data logging)
The 240 HV Failed after about 6 runs. The 220 has never worked other than get hot standing still. The 240 went back to HiFei and was "repaired". In fact its now appreciably slower than a T180 on 6S and overheats like crazy despite very good water flow. Both the Motor and the ESC overheat which makes me think that something is wrong with the phasing. The max current shown is 175 amps and the average about 135. Motor temp is over 60 C. As soon as the T180 goes back on sanity is restored. HiFei don't have a clue and don't want to talk to me.
HiFei wrote to me 5 weeks ago to say my 220 was ready to be returned to me. Despite numerous emails since the only comment I have from them is to be patient. Is anyone else having the same issues at the moment?
I don't know what people can suggest but it would be fair to say that 1) I am fed up doing their quality control testing for them and 2) I am very close to telling my friends to never, ever buy a Swordfish, or if you do factor in $50 for 2 postage for returns under warranty.
