Help on setting timing with the Swordfish Pro+ 220A-6s ESC

I finally bit the bullet and bought one of these, but can't open the software, it says installing successful but need "a 64 bit" something---I thought I have a 64 bit Windows 7 home Edition??? I am not a computer guy---very confused. So when I plug the ESC via the USB, the software will not respond.
Anyway, I have the program box, and I will run this with a "D" wind motor, since I can't set this via my PC, ( In the instruction, if one sets the ESC via the PC, one can set it at specific degrees. Is it safe just to set timing on "LOW" from the box??

I set all mine with the program box and set timing @ Low. Never had any issues that way.
