    Seaking 120a & leopard 3650 2090kv - poof

    Proboat stiletto
    Seaking 120a v2
    Leopard 3650 2090kv 3.5y, 15 deg timing
    Smc 4s2p
    440/3 prop

Boat stopped after 2 minutes of run time on new esc and new motor,
Esc was fairly hot but no blown caps, motor smells burnt, water was flowing fine.
No beeps from either, the steering still works, I hooked the stock stiletto motor back to it and it just has a sick hum when throttle is applied.

I thought this was going to be a good working setup, I used the same prop with stock set up and it did fine.

I guess I'll try to use the US1 gold can setup with UL1 esc, it seems those were popular with this boat and somewhat proven.

    Thoughts?

Hard to see in the pic but the right cap has a little puff at the end compared to left side. Does anyone check/fix these or is it better to just toss it?

I have replaced caps on these before. Mainly to better quality before using it. You could attempt to replace them if you have good soldering skills.

No guarante it lwill fix it but it's a cheap attempt.

Thanks Ray, I might give it a try just for learning purposes, what's the worst that could happen!
        I have a Raider 150 that is going in it this time, running 4s, but I'm torn between the UL1 2030kv, leopard 3650 2290kv (D) or another 2090kv (Y).
I'm just sport running so I'd sacrifice a little speed to stay cool for a 5-6 minute run time, hoping to get it around 45 mph. Any suggestion between the 3?

For anyone who stumbles across this thread and is curious about motor performance... the 3660 2050kv was exactly 1.5 mph quicker (45.3) than the 3650 2090kv (43.8). I left the boat set up the same as it was before except the difference off esc & motor. Temps ran around 120 on both. The water up the road from my house is narrow so I was at half throttle when turning, I'm hoping it'll run a little cooler with more open throttle. I'll tweak the set up but satisfied, on to the popeye and then a scratch build mean machine 2.
