    castle 240 programming

ready to program my 240 esc. running a neu 1527 1 D on 6-s. i understand you make connection to computer with link, then connect battery. Do i need to have motor connected? have been using program boxes on other esc's and their ease of use has made me "stupid" what settings should i use? everytime I program a new esc it always seems I always dont understand one or more of the program settings . Had that issue with fightercat and jedi 300. using a hitec fm airplane radio (solo running) on private lake. will binding be straight-foward.? thanks for any assistance.

Binding will be very straight forward. You do not need a motor connected and the programing is very easy....you will love it. My new boat is all set to run. Do you want to meet up some time?
PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash

I don't think this is going to end well. The 1527 1D on 6s requires a MAN of a control.

Be very careful or you'll end up throwing a few $100 bills in the hull.

Is that typo? What kind of hull?
I ask because that is a lot of RPM on 6s. Unless you are running SAW.
Too many boats, not enough time...

instructions say bring throttle back to full brake then beeps then bring back to neutral. what does that mean? what day are you planning to run in derby? and what hours?

Full brake - push trigger all the way forward.
Neutral - let go of trigger.

What hull and prop will you be using? Set the timing at 2 degrees advance and don't use much part throttle when running - that is a potential roman candle if you are not careful.

With those kind of rpm I would think absolutely perfect balance on the prop is essential.

If the castle esc needs to see full reverse to arm you may not be able to do use it with a stick radio without the use of a pistix. Have you tried plugging it in with the throttle stick all the way down?

Saturday or Sunday morning. I go around 7am before people get there. Let me know.

You would think so Terry, but I have personal knowledge of several SAW record holders spinning north of 45,000 rpm whose props are 'close', but not at all in perfect static balance - one blade slowly drops on the balancer. When you consider the magnitude of a slight prop imbalance and compare it to the magnitude of the prop blades striking the water over 90,000 times a minute you can see that the need for "perfect" propeller balance kinda dissappears. Others can feel free to disagree, but the above is what I know from years of SAW competition. I don't feel I'm in bad company.

Jay, I actually find that encouraging since my prop skills are average at best.

I've had setups that would vibrate like mad on the bench but ran great in the water. Probably exactly as you described.
