Geez. Caps are about .75 a piece.
It does look like a simple install, but the price???

Just noticed that the CC literature discusses Helis, Cars, Trucks, and Aircraft. Us poor Boaties don't get No Respect

So, I have to ask, why would some of the most expensive and "best" controllers need to have additional caps added. For the price, they should come with what they need.

Noticed that as well....they must not be marine certified caps.

Funny how they did such a good photo op to never show the public any capacitance values? Its not even listed in their ad or even on the packaging. Not that getting the info would be hard or to the informed a problem. But on the bright side look what we, RC boaters, have proven to the ESC maufacturers. They need more protection in certain applications. Doubtfull this would have occurred in the car and A/C market.

On the linked page, check the last pic on rhs, the "high voltage high yield CC ESC" used to display this device.. is connected to the battery via a Deans plug. !

                  ROFLMAO

I do recall Joe Ford of CC stating warranty voided if an external cap bank was applied to a CC240HV.. this after the umpteenth warranty return for melting cap legs...
Maybe the Deans plug is the clue.. a sacrificial fuse ?

Good they are following end user comments with practical application of feild results.

Note: All Castle controllers with data logging capabilities can report the ripple voltage they encounter during use. Ripple voltage peaks should always be less than 10% of the total pack voltage; the smaller the ripple voltage the better. If an application exhibits more than 10% ripple voltage under peak loads, the user should consider using higher discharge (C Rating) batteries, shorter wires, higher current connectors, better gearing or a smaller load.
