Turnigy 120 esc cap temps ?

    Hi,
I have a 36"shock wave that is fe now,
My esc cap temps are 160f and up some times is that to hot for them ?
    Boat setup is,
36"Mono, All stock hardware except for collet and prop, Motor is a Feigao 9xl 1898kv,

Now I put a 4074 2200kv motor in it now and more caps,
Runs a lot cooler and better now,
Also using a x646/3 prop now.

Esc is a Turnigy marine 120a and programed setting are 2 4 3 3 with card,
Cell are Turnigy 4s2p 40c to 50c 3000mah and 5.5 bullets all the way.
Ran today with a p230 for 4 minute runs and gps at 42.5mph,
All temp cool 98f, Just caps where ,160f, 198f.

    Thanks for any info.

I was testing props today and was not sure about the caps,
Did not want push them to far.
First time I ran the boat it ran good but had a wobble side to side at top speed with a x442 at 36mph.
I thought the cells needed to be moved lower to center of hull to stop the wobble.
But I had to go forward to because of the rails in the way,
The boat ran ok maybe a little wet today.
I want to test some more and prop up some,
Will also move cell back to the sides of the hull and see what happens.

Cap limit is normally 105* Celsius.......................you were real close. I'd prop down to an x442.

OK thanks, That good to know.
It was faster with a p230 at 42.3mph and caps were 170f,
I think the p230 is the winner, Have to test with one some more.
            The cells were 110f , esc 90f, Motor 98f.

I have the SeaKing 120a ESC and the cap temps were in the high 100's like yours. I removed the stock caps and installed 2 caps that I got from Off Shore Electric. Cap temps are now around 120f with no changes to the power system.
