    Fliermodel 300A boat ESC

Anyone use a Fliermodel 300A boat ESC?
I acquired this in a trade and know nothing about it.

I understand it is programmable with USB cord, but I have been unable to locate a cord.

I use a few they are great. Pretty durable until they aren't. They don'y shut down they blow up. So be careful not to over amp it.

I used a pair in the first setup in my HPR SAW boat for budget reasons. They don't program with USB, in fact, they don't program, which was always suspect. After about 8-9 successful high speed passes, over the course of a few weekends, one of them spontaneously decided to run at full throttle, in reverse, after a single low speed pass during a test session. It grenaded the entire port side of the boat. It was not a Tx/Rx issue which was confirmed post mortem. The reverse run unwound the flex cable, which shredded the stuffing tube, tore up the hull, drive, and overheated the motor. I dissected the problematic ESC and discovered the cooling plate was a two piece design and had a paper thin aluminum bottom siliconed onto the main body of the cooling plate. It was ripe for leaks, especially since I usually blow out my cooling systems with compressed air after the weekend.

I scrapped both and have moved on from Flier products since. Just one man's experience.
