what 12v DC battery for field charging

I dont want to use my cars battery for powering and charging my Lipos. Is buying Deep Cycle battery a good idea for running my charger on,one like you would use for a trolling motor and then at the end of the day put it on a car 10A charger?Anyone out there using this type of 12V DC setup? THANKS ,DORM

That's exactly what I use on race weekends when I don't bring the generator. Works great. I get my deep cycle battery from Tractor Supply. Dont know if you're close to one. I see they have 10 stores in Jersey.

I think the Tractor Supply battery is about $80 plus $5 core deposit. The reserve capacity is about 180 minutes. Reserve capacity the amount of time the battery can provide a usefull voltage at a 25 amp draw. With four to five P and P-Limited FE boats between me and John, the battery lasts us a full day of racing. I think this battery is the best bang for the buck. I also keep the battery in a Minn Kota Power station.
