Could be good for some of the high power chargers some guys have.
I think the little gene we use at the pond would be running wide open trying to keep up with it!
I have no idea about the quality, you just never know what you're going to get from Hong Kong, could be great could be junk.

It looks like a Mean Well brand unit; I'll know for sure when it shows up. I have two Mean Well S210-12 units and they have been doing great work (I paid $30, shipped, for each of them), even plugged into the very dirty output of a cheap Harbor Freight 900W generator. Between my flying and boating buddies and I, we've bought seven of those smaller Mean Wells.

I hope these bigger capacity bargain-priced units are just as good!

Jacked1, I see its 400 watt rated, but that is total. How much can you catually pull off the PS while maintaining the min at 11.5-12 volts for the charger?

You guys have to realize that with those switching PS the full wattage rating is based on using the max voltage input, which typicaly is 230vac. Otherwise on 110vac you start seeing an output volatge drop as amp draw increases. That could be be alot or it could be a little. The specs can be vague until you test it. The router PS like Feathermerchant sells are a good deal but you can buy the PS yourself off Fleabay and do the mods yourself (good info on RC Groups, http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1005309) and your out maybe $30 for a 800w PS! So even if you only use 25 amps out of the 50 or 60 amp rating the output voltage is rock steady under a low load (25 amps is plenty for most of us!)

that is exactly my point.

I have been using a cheap old 500W PS with no issue.....Until I bought 4 5000 mah lipos and tried charging at 20 amps. I quickly realized that without the load on the 5V circuit, you have significant voltage drop accoss the 12 V output, limitting your power output.

LOL I was actually searching for a server PS when I found those.
I've converted quite a few over the years for various uses. I didn't look too closely at these, figured they might be good for people not comfortable with playing around the inside of a PS.
If I ever step up to big boats I might need something with more voltage and amperage for charging more than 2 or 4s packs, for now a few 200w chargers serves me better for 4s spec setups at the pond or home. A server PS is fine for that.

I think it said that the 12 output can handle a little more than 20 amps but I will never need much more than ten amps for a 3s batt so it is plenty for me and is as cheap as I could get in a half hour.
