Recommend me a Lipo charger please...

I'm just getting into the whole Lipos thing and need to sort out a charger.

I've had a look around on Hobby King, but to be honest the choice is a bit overwhelming. I found the Turnigy MEGA 400W, which looked good, but I really wanted something that could be AC as well as DC powered.

I need something value for money (not cheap and nasty though), that can charge 6s, has AC an DC charging, balancer, and whatever feature are needed that I dont know about...


Being able to charge two packs would be good, but I think that will be a bit too much too ask given my budget.

I have this charger and it is fantastic. I charge two 6s packs at a time. It's simple to use and does just about everything!!

Just been looking at the Ichargers, the iCharger 106B-plus 250W 6s Balance/Charger looks like a good bit of kit, although I'd have to get a power supply as well.

The Hyperion listed above looks amazing, but is a bit out of my price range.

I have the iCharger 206B with the P350 power supply. It's a great charger, and with the parallel cables I can charge up to 6 lipos at once. It will charge up to 6s lipos at 20amps. It's got all the necessary lipo features such as balance charge/discharge/storage/cycle. And of course, it can do just about any other battery you can think of.

Progressive R/C has a bunch of other chargers and power supplies that may better fit your need, this is just the one I have and usually recommend.

You do not have to plug it into your computer to use it. The USB port is for updating the software and downloading stored charge logs from your iCharger. It's a great feature!

Here is what I have learned regarding chargers. A dual charger is based on 2 seperate chargers in 1 housing so basically you are paying for 2 smaller chargers. Throw in an integrated power supply which also adds quite a few dollars. Bottom line is a $250 ac charger is not all that great in features or value. Personally I decided to go with the 206B from icharger already mentioned. If you want to do more than 1 batt at a time just buy the required cables or better yet a second charger. If you do not want to lay out the cash for a power supply just yet, simply plugging it to your car batt will give you more than any power supply out there for power required.

I had a couple of 6 volt boat batts that I retired to my work bench which I use for several applications including my 206B. A dual batt setup like I have is overkill to say the least and definitely not required, just happened to have those lying around.

Yes you can, but you will not be able to use it to it's fullest potential.

You could, but the t20 does not put out enough power to make the 208b worthwhile.
You need to get a 25 amp 350 watt power supply to make the 208b run to its full potential. BTW at HK the 25 amp power supply is only 15.00 more than the T20.
