The discharge voltage starts higher, and stays higher than conventional lithium polymer packs."

These packs appear to be illegal for racing in NAMBA and perhaps IMPBA because their nominal voltage is not 4.2 volts per cell. Thoughts?

I havent looked yet, do they sell a charger now to go with them? I wanted some revolectrix batteries but I'm not spending 4 to 500 bucks on a charger. Need a decent alternative. I'll look at these batteries too when u get a minute.

If they are illegal, then the Revolectrix batteries would be as well. Something people who attend organized racing need to consider, as well as the CD's for those races.

But making fun of Turnigy doesn't solve the higher nominal voltage legality issue with newer technology cells. Or the fact we may all need to buy new chargers for them.....

You know how things are. they evolve. Sometimes takes the racing guidelines or rules to catch up.

Ok. I found the batteries. I cant find a charger tho.

I checked my Thunder Power 820CD charger and it can charge up to 4.24v per cell, I wonder if that's something TP can update if the need arises.

I use the Revolectrix HV batteries. They can be charged to 4.27V/cell.
The HV batteries are only Illegal if you charge them up over 4.2V/cell. That's all I charge mine to
All that happens if you don't fully charge them to their Max voltage, is that they don't take on their full capacity. Probably about 5-10% less. No probs. They will last longer too.
The Revolectrix packs still hold up a higher voltage than a lot of other packs I have, through the discharge cycle under load, even when only charged to 4.2v/cell.
Policing the cheats will be the hard thing at sanctioned race events. Anyone at our club is welcome to check my packs before I use them.

I use a Hyperion Duo 720i & it has the capability to raise the cell voltage.

I'm wanting a new charger and one that can charge these newer HV packs

I also need a new charger. I bought a hitec a few months back (love it btw) but the ac power supply went out so I sent it back to get another one. I'm gonna sell it and get something that has a higher out put.
