I would go for 5000mah packs. This way you can get several sets for a full day of fun. Even though everything is water cooled, you want to give everything a break between runs. Push to long and to hard, eventually something will go out quicker.
My AQ Motley, I run two Turnigy 7.4V 5000mah packs. In series, so im running 14.8V at 5000mah. Playing around at local pond I may get 10mins of run time give or take.
But recently started meeting up with a group of guys and running a course, so after 5 1/2 laps of full trigger, I drain packs around 3200mah in 3-5mins.

I would stick with 5000mah packs or something close to it like 5300. Get you several sets of them. Enough for a day of running, or get a field charger and charge a set while your playing. Unless you have other toys, you really don't need the hard case packs.

Every little bit of weight among other things will help with performance in boat.

You get almost ten minutes with two 2s packs running a leopard 4074 2200kv?

so the first pic is two 2s packs wired series. the second is two 4s packs parallel. i use the leopard 4074 2200 in my mean machine cat. at first the 2s packs were okay, but as summer came, things were getting way hot and melting solder, and i do a nice solder job. so i went to 2 4s packs and things were way better. the added weigh slowed my boat by about 2 mph but it also stays in the water better…. hope this helps!
