    Lipo Question

does running 2 lipos in parallel boost the C rating while keeping voltage the same? If I wanted to run two 2s 4000maH 25c lipos in parallel would that make it a 2s 8000mah 50c lipo?

No, the C rating stays constant, however, theoretically you will be able to supply more amps.

    Here's what I mean.....

    2s1p @ 4000mah @ 25C = 100A discharge
    2s2p @ 8000mah @ 25C = 200A discharge

BUT, that's assuming that the packs are matched very well. Remember, you can now theoretically supply 200A to the system, BUT each of the 2s 4000mah packs is technically still rated at 100A. So if for whatever reason you discharge one of them higher than the other, you can damage the packs.

If I have two Identical packs would that lower the risk?

to run 2 of them in parallel they have to be the same packs regardless. The c rating and mah have to be the same no matter what. Guys run in parallel all the time. As long as your packs are the same, I wouldn't worry.
