      Probably a brass tube with the ID of the flex cable (an airplane pushrod btw), which appears to be the same as the motor, soldered to the brass and connected to the motor shaft with a set screw collar.

          Use a collet with an ID of the brass tube size, and dremel a slot through the tube so the collet set screw rests on the shaft. The smaller the hole the better.

                Years ago I built a 9" mono from a cut down Ned Schmidt abs mono. It ran like a skipping stone.

                  Cool build!!

                  I am really getting into the smaller boat builds, the learning curve is not as expensive, and there are a lot of smaller ponds that they can be run in.

                  Can't wait to see more of this boat.
