That's awfully nice of you to build a boat for somebody like this. And awfully nice of her to be into rc boats. My gf still laughs at me for playing with "RC toys". [boats, cars, planes, heli's etc]
Also, meniscus> You wouldn't think that somebody who has money to spend on a boat of this nature wouldn't put a stone on an engagement ring?
Yea I had to sell one of my VXL Rustler's and a few Dirtbike parts to help fund that little diamond.
You will spend a LOT more time setting up the tunnel than any other boat you've had. Depth of prop, angle, weight, props, etc. While we always go through that routine, the tunnels seem to be a lot touchier. I have left all of that to Herb. I don't have the patience for it and have enough trouble getting my "normal" boats to perform. Haha.

Eww, Sounds alot more interesting than I had thought, im probably jumping in too deep.
Iv been looking at the outboard drives, I think im just going to go with the Bullet drive from Hyperprod.com, but the Angle drive that Properchopper used looks sweet.
Herb has used K&B lower units, OS lower units, IRWIN/REK units, etc. Doesn't really seem to matter just so you get the motor hooked up to the prop?
I'm kinda partial to the angle drive just cause it's more techie lookin to me. If you want to save some bucks, you could use Fullers setup at only $90 includes shaft and motor adapter I believe. You would want to verify that. Those lower units work just fine. Herb uses them.

Thanks man, Yea I need to save alittle on this one, but I really don't like the looks of the black carbon fill look, and yea the Angle drive looks the best to me as well.
Be carefull with the angle drive. It causes a lot of lift and many have steered away from that lower unit. Properchopper did major mods to make his work. Here is my VS1 FE build thread if you need any ideas! I did 46mph with it this weekend. Mike
