Would the No Step 1 be a good candidate for a 380 8L and 3s? Looks like you have one...just curious

i found the war zone jr from bby, i had randy put in a carbon floor so it should be all good at 18". i run 2s 540s in my no step 1 and it is a sweet set-up....

i get about 35 on my no step 1 on 2 cells. i have no problems with stress cracks at that speed. i just glassed the area under the motor mount for rigidity. it is a pretty light boat. runs a feigao 540 8s and a cut and cupped x438. i think a little smaller prop would get higher rpm and more speed but i dont have a 1/8" shaft laying around. right now after about 5 minute runs it is about 150 degrees on the motor and everything else under 100. i use 2 4900mah in parallel so i get about 10 minutes total and have run it straight through with no problems

My current and best nostep 1 set up so far is with a 540 8L on a Zippy 3s 5000mah with a Y535. Runs cool at 44 mph on GPS. Added a flood chamber to so now it self rights. I used to run a Hacker 8s on 2s 10,000mah brick with a X632 but the boat runs better with the larger 8L motor....

rhino - nice flood chamber! does it work good? did you make it from scratch or buy the wall kit?

the no step is my 2 cell boat. i have a 7s - 5000kv that i am going to try but first need to get a 1/8th shaft so i can prop down. i use the same 8l set up, cc120 and x437 in a delta 26" that gets it on at 48mph. also runing 5000mah zippy's. it is hard on a single pack so i run 2 in parallel.

all aside, this thread was looking for under 20" 380 set-ups. i have had good luck with the watercooled turnigy 28-3600kv and x435 in a folki. i will probablly try that in the war zone jr and see what i can get. the small motor alows me to go light with 22-2500mah, small props and high rpm.

i will keep this thread up through the build but i am still waiting on the hull.

I love the "June Bug" mono's you have...Good stuff!! What I would like to find is a mono (like the No Step 1) that will do good with the Feigao 380 8L, 70 amp Etti Navy ESC and an Enerland 3S 2200 lipos...

Thx, the flood chamber works great. Boat self-rights within 5 seconds. It is self made. I was going to buy the pre-made wall from H&M but they told me it would be like 35 eur. to ship from Germany. I must say that it was a real PITA to make and get water tight though....

I just took a watercooled Turnigy 2845 3600kv out of my German Micro Mogli clone. It blew a bearing and I can't figure out if it can be replaced or not. The motor leaked from the factory. I had to run a bead of epoxy around the watercooling seam on the motor body. You might want to check yours under pressure to make sure it doesn't leak....

Have you looked at the Hopf Moskito? http://206.206.85.209/xtdoc/Details....H1&store=xtdoc It's 19". should work with a 380.....

yeah i did look at that one. i decided to try the bby... as far as the turnigy motors i have had 2 that the front end-bell came loose after 1 riun, they replaced them verry quickly with no probs. as for the bearings i have had no problems but wouldn't try replacing them, the motor is cheap enough i would just replace it...

also to hotwater - this boat would go good on a 380l. i used that set-ep in a similar size etti hull and it ripped, just didnt like the stepped hull thing
