They don't make 8S packs but of course I use two 4S packs in series.

Funny guy!...you are not a pain, that's why we are here so ask all the questions you want, glad to help if I can.

I always try and keep my actual running in this particular boat to 5 minutes, I am always surprised to check the cells after the run and they are usually about 30% capacity still and that is with the larger X457 props, the X447's I have not accurately tested but the runtime will of course improve. This hull runs very loose on the water, a good thing for speeds and lower amp draw but not the best for overall handling, it likes to turn into an airplane pretty easily. It's quite an old design and I am sure back when it was designed nobody was thinking that anybody would be doing 80+mph with it. If you were to use the exact same setup in your hull the outcome will be different of course, maybe not far off and probably better handling than mine!

Yup I run 6s2p per side in BlownAway. Those 1717’s are known ‘amp hogs’ because of their size. They are the size of LMT 2250’s.

You won’t be disappointed Geno. My 4050 1020kv’s are on their 5th season of SAW running on 12s. Granted I’m certainly not out there every weekend but I’m impressed.
If you are going with the 4070’s get 8mm shaft. Just makes for a sturdier motor

Good call Shawn on the 8mm shafts for the 4070 size.

I too have had nothing but good luck with TP, the 4050's I had in my Cheetah were perfect and rock solid pushing them to their max often, these 40XX series seem very robust and the price can't be beat for quality and value.

got some work done this weekend. motors are a little forward than I would like but had a hard time with stuffing tubes being to short and flex cables with to much binding. I'm sure I can make up for it with battery placement. just waiting on my full hatch to set cog.

Oh I didn’t think of that with the motors on tunnel. Maybe ESC’s over Motors if need be. That hatch is tall for the gas engines.

So how far from transom did you get the motors Geno?
And if it helps progression my hatch weighs 18oz and it’s cg is at 13.5” from the front hatch lip opening.
