I went through several of those plastic U-joints on my Twinstorm outdrive until I started using these :

i know this is a very old thread but I am praying you may be able to tell us what U-joint you found and use as the Amazon link is no longer good.

The hobby shop I bought them from is long gone. I checked the amazon link - lots of u-joints there - what happened?

Seems E-Bay has lots too. Might check local hobby shops 'cause the rc cars (crawlers and such use them). Matching shaft diameters may be some work 'tho.
