Never too old to learn something. On a good day I drive well. If I am a little dizzy (blood sugar off) I can get confused as to the correct direction to turn. Not fun. I never thought I would run one either but it is a good exercise for the mind. Ya I wanted to use a POS vise but could not find it.
What do you guys like for CG on this hull?

It's been almost 10 years since my last Whip build. Not sure where the CG wants to be.
Of late on all my sports I've been running CG at the leading edge of the fin and as close to the trailing edge of the sponson as I can get both.Noisy person

I guess I will have to just test after it is in the water.

One cool thing I learned was that if you move the fin forward, it becomes more effective, and vice versa. It's due to the fact that the centrifugal force creates a moment that 'rotates' the boat. Fin too much forward and it hooks. My leading edge of the fin (at the water line) is at the cg.

I am being real weight cautious with this build. But strength is important too. I have always used 1/32 for decking on riggers so I do not see why it would not work hear. It is not the deck of a hydro.Originally posted by ray schrauwen View PostAre you going to skin it in the stock 1/16" ply sheet or go to 1/32" ply?Last edited by RandyatBBY; 01-05-2018, 04:51 PM.

I have a kit sitting her and was thinking what to do with it and I might build it if I ever get other stuff done.
How about the bottom, still using the 1/16" or 1/32"?
I figure the bottom is better to be 1/16" but I dunno??
