DYMotorshop 17" Carbon Mini-Mono Build

Thought I'd post some pictures of a build I just completed for a friend of a DYMotorshop 17" Carbon Mini-Mono. He's supplying the power system and radio gear, so he just asked me to get the running gear worked out.

Used various bits I had in spares boxes, and had to machine a few pieces myself, but I think it turned out pretty nicely.

Power is going to be a 28mm motor setup for 3S running. Should be a fun little boat!

It looks good Darin. Those Plastic Octura 531s are garbage though, both floppy and fragile at the same time, if you need plastic change to a 4mm shaft and use a Graupner 2318 33 for about the same load with better performance and much better prop longgevity, or keep the drive and use a metal x432.

Having said that 32mm is pretty big for a mini mono, if he hasn't bought the motor yet he may be better off upping the KV a little and stepping back to octura30mm / graupner 31mm for better handling.

I'm amazed at how many people focus on that prop, when there is so much other beautiful work there to admire...

You can actually drill through a Graupner prop with a 7/64" bit. The threaded 1/8" shaft will tightly thread into the plastic material like a nylock nut.
