thanks i might get that! but how are you keeping it cool? water cooling? if so what one are you using?

On the 6S one I just put a larger heat sink that has a fan that goes on top but I never put the fan on it and it is working fine ( bigger boat has alot of air inside)

On the 2S one I cut one fin out of the original heat sink on each side and put a bass tube in for water cooling

yeah sept id use 3s thats why i was looking at the 3s before how fast roughly would i get with 1600kv kb + a prop thats about 2 inches wide + thoes batterys?

A 2" prop is a bit wider than the one I am using but mine has 3 blades and if yours has 2 blades it could be about the same ( I said could not sure)
If you are going to run the lipos as a 6S1P on 3700 20C you will only have 74 amps max

So if your boat is a little larger than mine you might want to look at the 1000KV motor as mine is the 1200 KV and it is using 90 amps on 6S
With the 1000KV it will be a little easier to turn the prop and use less amps
You could use the 1200KV and a smaller prop but I found my boat was hard to get up on plane to start with using a smaller prop

man we've all wanted to start with a large boat, but I don't think it's a good idea, get back to a smaller one, let's say 25 or 29", there are some cheap good ones available, and the equipement required for a 25 or 29" hull will cost you much less than for a 40" one!
Just a thought!

5.5 with shrink wrap lets the cap just threads right on nice and snug
