I'm digging it. How about cutting down the exposed threads on the pullpull rods

Actually I have some thin stainless jam nuts that go there and they weren't screwed all the way in. Just mock up :)Originally posted by shua View PostI'm digging it. Here it is powder coated and completed. In the above pics the mount wasn't epoxied in. Is in this pic. I'm just killing time waiting on my motor mounts. Also this is going to be my layout I think. It will have another 3s pack in each sponson. Not sure how I'm going to run it on 4s when I want to. May make a jumper plug for one of the connectors.

Now the steering is done. What a pain in the rear. So far I'm not to fond of this type steering because it took some finesse to get it right. At first it was over heating my servo. Then the Teflon tube kept pulling out on one side. The cable kept coming loose. Whew. I got it now tho and it does look good.

I was about ready to throw the towel in on this boat. For some reason the bottom of it started fogging up badly. Looked like crap. I'm very picky so I wasn't having that. Did a light wet sand on it and buffed it and it's a lot better. I'll do a better job once I recover fully. Sanding and buffing probably isn't a good idea for me right now. Got the drive mounted last night. Had to shorten them to fix. I ended up ordering another rudder because I don't like the way this one fits too much. I can use this on my 32" cat twin build that it will look more at home on. Not a fan of the pull pull rudder at this point. When I get the other rudder in I'll make the decision for sure. Anyway here's a mockup of the drives before I got them fully mounted.
Look how foggy the bottom looks.

Yea it was a pain. I'm very picky and I had certain expectations about it and I went through great pains to get it right. And I still don't like it. I'm gonna try a different one.Originally posted by Beaux View PostI was wondering about that pull pull rudder it looks cool but it looks like a pain also. Hope your feeling better.
That's the epoxy from the layup fogging like that. Not sure why.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Have you ever seen carbon fiber how it looks after sitting in the sun for a while? That's what it looks like.Originally posted by Beaux View PostIs that the clear coat fogging up? I've had good luck with the clear coat with ceramic for engine parts at O'rielly,s.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

fxguy,
We have something in common! I am healing from colon surgery and also own one of these units. Mine has developed hair line cracks along the bottom and I have yet to witness a blow over. Mine came from Australia and was outfitted with 200 escs and I run 6s. The port side stinger occasionally binds in the Teflon and at initial start up throttle lags behind the starboard motor. I can't decide whether to replace the esc, or replace the tube going to the drive. One incident twisted the flex shaft inside the Teflon so bad, I almost couldn't remove same. I am a little new to this so any advice would be appreciated. I love this CF cat when all is percolating!Traxxas Spartan, RCBB Zonda-R, Promarine MTR, Proboat IMP 31 v3, PB UL-19, Bonzai FE 47 Skater

I don't run Teflon in any of my builds. That's one reason why, if it binds it's hard to tell. Make sure it's all lined up perfectly.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was
