Delta Force 33 Cyber Storm build log and questions

My Cyber Storm arrived Monday from OSE. Very nice with excellent glass work. The bottom is pretty straight and will require very little work to blue print. I have ordered everything (I think) needed to complete it form advice on the OSE and RC Groups message boards. I will keep you posted as the build goes along. Thanks for the advise.

I laminated 2 pieces of 1/8” plywood (not the light plywood with the soft center) with the grain at 90 degrees. After proper prep I epoxied it in. The picture is of the jig for a tight fit and let cure vertical. That way any squeeze out won’t pool in the bottom of the V.

      Turn fins and trim tabs

I have looked at several pictures but am unsure of just where to install the turn fins and trim tabs. I have the 68 x 25 x 2 mm turn fins OSE-80062 and the Dual 2.24 x 1.89 x .61 inch trim tabs. Any advise? This is my first mono build.

Thanks, that is a great diagram. The Cyber Storm is slightly bigger so I can scale the numbers.

                Carbon fiber

I layed down some carbon fiber in the bottom. I noticed it helped stiffen the slight flex in the bottom.

                  Flooded tube

I cut the hole in the transom all the way at the bottom for the flooded tube. I test fit the tube but is not cut to length yet.

                    OSE Shaft Tube Seal

Since the motor will be sitting near the bottom and the tube will be below the water line has anyone used one of the OSE STS187 Shaft Tube Seals? Good idea or not?

                      Battery trays

Should I use battery trays spaced slightly off the floor with velco straps or just velcro them to the bottom? I have the Lucas Oil Cat with them velcroed to the floor and haven't had one come loose even on a flip. I see builds done both ways.

                        Turn fins

Turn fins installed. Used OSE-80062 Medium 68 x 25 x 2 mm. I put them 90 degrees to the bottom and about the middle of the flat spot near the outer edge.

From my experience with delta force monos, they like larger turn fins. If it skips and hops in the turns you'll know. Those could be fine on that hull.

Thanks for the tip. I will adjust them all the way down and if it skips and hops I will get longer ones.

                              Trim tabes

OSE-80070 Dual 2.24 x 1.89 x .61 tall. Installed the trim tabs at my best guess from pictures. 2 mm above the bottom. I did have to bend them a little more to make 90 degrees. They angled down slightly without touching the adjusting screws. Also the holes in the tabs didn't quite line up with the bracket holes. I clamped them together and ran a drill through them so the screws would go through.
