100amps speedo is a must with these kinda motors, they have no torque and will need
all the amps the batteries and ESC can put out.
Did you post a video of your brushless rigger yet?
Jan you are right again, my mistake there. I have 8S
    No pictures yet.

btw, where has the edit button gone ??
    See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Seeing as I will be using an L can w/ 4000Kv, I believe that I should have quite a bit more torque than what most people have in these size riggers.

With my 3500Kv motor on 6 GP3300's, I used a graupner 40mm prop. The motor had no problem whatsoever turning this prop, so with the 4000Kv motor on 2s lipo, I would like to increase the pitch and decrease the diameter a little.

With lipos, my boat will be drastically lighter, and in combination with the faster motor and higher voltages, I believe that my rigger should be able to handle much, much more than a 1.4" pitch prop. I am thinking that an octura 1938 will be my best bet.

      (1.9" pitch, 38mm diameter)

What do you guys think about this prop?

Anyone have an expected amp draw with a 4000Kv motor on 2s?

I think that is a lot of prop for long runs... it's more like a SAW prop, 2 passes and you have to bring her in...
I think if you wanna have more run time, then a 1.6 pitched wheel would be probably the most you can use,
something like a 637 or MAAAAAYBE a detongued 640 if the setup is perfect... just my opinion.

Simon, the "EDIT" button goes away after a short while now... this is a trial that Steven is doing.

Redoing the boat for this summer.

Switching to a flex shaft and making a new strut with octura lead teflon bearings in it.

Getting a 3s 5Ah lipo to power it with.

Looking for prop suggestions (again) and apologizing for being such a pompous ass earlier. :)

EDIT> According to the motor/prop/battery chart, I should be using a 35mm or slightly larger prop. Which means i'll need a 1/8" shaft.
