New build: Delta Force 26

Here's my new Delta Force 26.

The first pic shows the epoxy drying from the extra layer of fiberglass I laid on the bottom.

The second pic shows some of the hardware installed. Next are the stringers.

I plan on running 3s2p. I haven't decided on the motor yet. I'm thinking 9L or 10L. Suggestions are welcome.

Nice clean job. glad you are sharing pics. how do you plan on securing stringers and what determines the width apart?

I'll attach the stringers with epoxy and Fiberglass. The width will be such thatthis motor mount will fit between them.

Okay, I just got back from the pond.

Verdict: This boat is cool!

It's very stable and could use boat-loads more power. I knew the motor I was using (feigao 540 16S) wouldn't be enough.

i ran the one i had on a 7L and 3s 1p and it was ballistic, handled great too

Thanks! I just got back from the pond. I'm now running the 9L with 3s2p. Wow! I did a run with an x432 and another with the x435. No overheating. Very stable. I may try the x632 next time. I have no way of knowing how fast, but it's faster than a well-tuned SV running 5s. I'd meant to get video, but forgot the camera. Next time.

How does the way you have the motor mount/ mounted to your stringers seem? Is it just epoxied in there or secured with bolts? I was thinking of just bolting the alum. part right to stringers via adjustment screws rather than the c/f plates. Would that work ok? Thanks a bunch.

Actually, the stringers are attached to the hull with silicone. After that has dried, I sprayed the area where the motor mount was to go with silicone lubricant (which dries instantly), and then siliconed the motor mount in place. I did it this way in case I wanted to re-locate the motor mount at a later time.

You're probably thinking it will come loose, but it's in there solid. It can be removed, though, with some effort.

On this particular hull, which has a very low profile, tall stringers would have been in the way of the batteries. They probably stiffen the hull a little bit, but they are mainly there to mount stuff on.

As long as you have enough room, I think your idea of mounting the aluminum plate directly to the stringers is an excellent one.
