hey Keith, thanks for your advice, I actually had the same thing happen to mine as well before, I'll definitely check the new ones. I have used this same foam on every boat I work, it's the 4lbs density foam from us composites. From what I have seen it does not shrink or expand once it's set, and my favorite part about it is that it does not have any give, like a solid brick, yet has reasonable weight. I saw your thread about some foam shrinking overtime and distorting the hull, but so far I haven't seen this one do it in any boats I used it for.Originally posted by keithbradley View PostLooking good Dennis!
Have you used the expanding foam you're using before this? It's a Urethane 2 part, correct?
In regards to your hydraulics, I would put the shaft tightly in a vice and yank on the cables with pliars. I've seen a number of that brand that were poorly glued and came apart. If that is the case with yours it's better to find out now and fix it properly instead of have one break during a run.
I did! I did that same method with the chopped up cf and epoxy. I will also add another layer of CF there in the empty area. Just a few more things to glue in and this boat will be finished.Originally posted by dude123 View Postdid you reinforce the transom?

Not much progress on this one, but finally made my own servo mount. Used a dremel, files, and sand paper to get it to the final look. Also I've been working on other boats in the meantime.

You're right, I was not a fan of the original water fitting! BUT this blue one will be used as an antenna mount! I will put a heatshrink around it so the antenna can flex and it'll stick out only about an inch. The problem with regular antenna mounts is that heatshrink just slides right off in a crash. And I sealed the original water hole with black resin to match the glossy stripe. To glue the cf pieces together I sand the contact areas and use epoxy resin, same one I use for all CF work.

Not much progress, but I created and installed these motor mounts. A few more things left to do and this boat will be finished.

Got around to working on the boat, finished up most of the remaining stuff.
Did the following:
- Rudder system (used some water outlets as bases for the tubing)
- custom ESC plate (since the tunnel is not flat, i wanted a flat platform for the esc's to sit on)
- Stingers installed
- stuffing tubes and water inlets
- shortened stock rudder

Thanks! So I'm finally done with this build, finished up the remaining bits and pieces. Did a test run today, it's definitely faster than I expected it would be. My hpr has the same power setup but more weight, so this one is about 5 or so mph faster, my guess is somewhere around 85-90 mph. I'll take some videos of it running plus gps.
The setup is leo 4074 2000kv motors, seaking 180a v3 esc's, x447 props. Batteries are revolectrix 6S, 70C, 4200 mah. I usually add more cooling pipes to the top of the heatsink which seems to help with the temps quite a bit. ,

I've seen this boat in person and saw it run yesterday. As a fellow Genesis owner, I can tell you the quality and attention to detail is impressive, and the speed "out of the box" was ridiculous.
I've been so impressed with TheShaddix's work that I've commissioned (begged) him to build me another Genesis just like his but with a single drive. I wouldn't be surprised if that boat is going 90 mph as it sits, and what's just as impressive is that it's really heavy because its built like a tank so it can actually handle flipping and crashing at those speeds. Compared to my mildly reinforced Genesis hull, I would say his boat is 50% heavier, but 20 - 25 mph faster!

Looks good! Lake 2 @ Santee Lakes is great for boats, I'm there almost every weekend ( well until my boat stopped working). Im sure ill get to see it run out there.

Normally we run the Model Yacht Pond but the sailboat guys had their annual 3 day regatta going on so went to Santee lake instead. I was really pleased with the location other than the fact that they have a small bolder near the middle of the pond!
Makes for some exciting moments I can tell you, plus love running in freshwater again.

Yeah I never get close that that bolder but if you hit that haha farewell. I go every now and than to the Model Pond but the drive from East County is long. Most my buddies are there EVERY Sunday. The freshwater is a breeze for clean up, salt water just makes it a pain sometimes.
The sailboat guys get serious about it too, last time I saw them arguing and fighting.
