    my question is, why primer? the gelcoat sanded is its own primer, and better than any spray can primer. just sand, and paint.
    There's a hole at the center of earth where the rest of the world sinks but i stand still...

      Didn't know that.. I sanded the boat before I primed it anyway so it should be fine. It was just a thin coat anyway, just enough to cover the seam on the hull and any other imperfections on the hull.
      Good times had by all!

        I use a filler primer over Gelcoat to fill any pin holes and other imperfections, 80% of it gets sanded of on the final sanding but it still makes for a much better finished product.
