As you've seen in a few of my builds, I use this method. It woks well. I also use it in the rudder standoff on larger hulls to add strength and make it easier to mount hardware.

Well this is my rivercat with batteries so being the daytona is a little bigger I think it'll weight right at 9 lbs. I think the weight makes a difference in how much it would torque roll.....

No I said "definately see yours coming in 3lbs or so heavier" 6S mine 8S yours, larger motor, more epoxy inlay etc.. I know how much time you spend on epoxy bedding and inlay. Remember I got my Fantasm from you

That's why I started adding the carbon cloth cut up in ut. Seems like your way was better. I flood the transom with epoxy and put a 2mm carbon plate where the rudder mounts. its usually so thick right there i have to use 30mm long screws to mount the ruddder. it would break the whole ass end off before the part where the rudder mounts cracks. I probably over do it, but id rather not have a hull crack from a flip. I usually flood the sponson floors (like dj mentioned) just in case a turtle or log is hit...in hopes that it would take the impact.

The Honeycomb looks great in a hull. I worked on a boat last year that Keith had done the inlay in with it. Pretty cool stuff.

I got a small piece of it off ebay. It's about 1.5" narrower than I really need for this inlay so I'm gonna have to put some strips on each side which I really didn't want to do.

Got the inlay done. Turned out pretty nice. It's a little heavier weave than what I usually use but it formed well. I did have to add some strips down the side, they blend in well even though they are regular weave. It's definitely going to be a strong layup on it. It better be...I plan on finding this hulls limits! Anyway, here's a pic and now I gotta jump on the cheetah and do the inlay in it. I plan on having these pretty close to done this weekend if everything works out as planned. I'm waiting on hardware for the cheetah but this boat I have everything I need....

Travis, looks great brother.... I don't think what your doing is overkill. These CF hulls need some strength added, with the speeds we run and the abuse that can happen from high speed acrobatics or like you said hitting something. I am following your lead on how I'm doing my cf dragboat hull...

It looks good Travis. I love the honeycomb. I Also have a Daytona here. Just a FG one and was thinking twins but wondering if single would not be better. It should be the next build after the R-42.

Follow along and let's see what I can make this puppy do. I'm pretty sure these builds will go fast. The hardest parts are already behind me.

Thanks. I ended up putting a strip down the seam along with the inlay. And I may get creative with a couple other things. The inlay looks a bit better in person, pics don't show the detail well.

Shawn, I had looked at doing mine as a twin. Its really tight in there and I decided it would be a real PITA trying to get things mounted, Hard enough getting to whats there now...mine is fast running just a Neu 1515 2200kv on 6S. I had a gps'd 78mph run and a unconfirmed into the 80mph run...really looking fwd to seeing what Travis gets out of his....
