Kfxguy do you have a link to the ABC prop you are using? Is it the 3 blade with 15 rake?

Ose has them. It's a 1915-17-45 two blade. 17 degree rake. It really like these props much better than a 447 and 447/3. Strut level, lifts the bow perfectly and the ride attitude is perfect. Hers a video of it on 7s. The first was 6 s. The whole point is I'm showing Darin there's no need for any silly ride pad mods. With the right props the boat will run quite well.

I didn't mod my rear sponson either "glass hull" it runs awesome wide open around ovals but always looking to try different props.

Ps that's one fast cheetah!

No problem Darin, these are the stingers I used (for future reference) and like I said I had to modify the mounting pads to fit the Cheetah. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-16-aluminu...item2343fd681d They are adjustable length too, which I thought was a pretty cool feature..

As soon as my props get here and I can get this boat fully to the performance I'm looking for (thinking "P-Offshore" speeds... not SAW speeds... I wanna race this thing!), I'm going to probably replace the stingers with these much stronger ones. Need things more "bullet-proof"/dependable for racing.

55-60 in race water should be no problem. You can try those plastic props and cnc props and octura props all you want but basically they are a waste of your time. They don't have the lift to make this hull fly right. The abc 1715-17-45 (43mm) would be an excellent place to start. If you wanted more prop, then get the 1815-17-45 and if you want less get the 1615-17-45. Once you use these props, you'll see what I mean. They don't cavitate on a cat like they do a mono. Every video I've posted of that cheetah was with one of those props. They work.

HAHAHAHA... playing with you... You have to understand.... I don't think I have a prop in my box that is "stock"... You guys swap props... I find the one the boat likes and then improve it.

Actually, he's tell me it's a good plan until I figure out which diameter the boat runs best with, and then we'd select real props that have the correct lift and blade area, and I'd prep them from there... Then, once they were correctly prepped and I had tweaked to my liking, I would harden them. From that point on, I'd concentrate on boat setup and driving.

As you can tell... unless I'm at a SAW event or a 2-Lap, overall speed isn't usually my goal.

All that said, your boat is a freaking ROCKET, and looks like it can fly around an oval. I like it, and I HAVE taken note of the props you are running. Rest assured, I WILL be getting "real props" at some point, but not twelve sets of them. I will get this close with these "toy props", then figure out what I want from there.

Made a couple of quick updates in preparation for the upcoming NAMBA 2-LAP TT event.

To fit into the P-CAT Class, had to get the length under 34", so I knocked 1/4" off the sponson tips.

For now, I'm going to run with the "factory" TFL stingers, but I did buy a new set of heavier-duty stingers (thanks to the recommendation of a couple people on this thread. ), that I'll try to fit prior to running this at the FE Nats this summer. The TFLs should hold up fine for 2-Lap duty next month. For heat racing, I think the beefier ones are going to survive better. Will be interesting to see if I can get them to fit, as the footprint is quite a bit larger, and my current drive-shaft placement doesn't leave any room on the inside of the transom for mounting.

OK, Ran this thing at the NAMBA 2-LAP in P-CAT last weekend. Using the ABC 17-series props (1616-17-45 for starters), with the TFL SSS 2074KV motors, the "issue" of the hull plowing the nose didn't really seem to exist in the straights. Boat flew the nose fine and was relatively quick and fast.

However, in the turns at speed, it really seemed to want to hook and "carve" through the turn. Was pretty much undrivable around the corners.

Reversed the rotation of the props to be inward (were outward) and this helped a bunch, but still didn't "cure" the problem. Tilting the rudder forward seemed to help a bit, but still would "hook".

We're thinking that the stingers placing the props so far behind the rudder may be an issue. Going to outfit the hull with shorter stingers and/or move the rudder back (maybe both) and try it again. Most of the setups that people have shared on FB and such show the props about even with the rudder, or the rudder BEHIND the props.

Guess we'll find out.

Otherwise, the setup shows some promise on speeds. Wasn't able to fully realize it do to the hooking.
