Why would you associate a motor with a company that doesn't sell them?Originally posted by kfxguy View PostMy whole point was to assoiciate the motor with a comapny that people recognize. People recognize fightercat, right?"There's nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats." - Mike Fiore

Tfl makes fightercat hulls and some hardware. They also make the sss motors....it was to clarify it's not a tp motor as there seems to be some confusion.Originally posted by Rocstar View PostWhy would you associate a motor with a company that doesn't sell them?
Edit. I was told sss motors aren't made by tfl. Honestly I don't care who makes them. Tfl sells them and they are a decent motor. That's all that matters to me.Last edited by kfxguy; 08-17-2014, 01:24 PM.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

That was the reason I went with it. I read a bunch of (and talked to people) failures on the big can tp motors. I wanted a big motor to be different. I haven't seen a fantasm powered by a big single yet so that's my reason.Originally posted by flraptor07 View PostI've not heard anything bad about SSS motors, I beat the crap out of the one that came stock in my Genesis and it's still running..32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Where you from? Los Angeles or Louisiana? I just got back from the lake...83.3mph is where my rivercat is at now. I haven't started on the fantasm too much yet cuz I'm building a rivercat for a guy on here and I'm tinkering with mine. I'm trying to get 90 out of it...maybe more so it's requiring my attention and $$ right now. The fantasm I want at least 80 mph out of it. Maybe more. The setup I'm trying first may or may not do it.....but they do sell better motors and esc's so I'm not worried about it. Lol.Originally posted by darryl whitman View Postkfxguy, what speed do you think it will hit?

Should be an interesting build. There were a couple guys on this forum that came in and out of the hobby in about a year. One of them built a Fantasm with a 5692. That's the only one I can think of:

I might have a motor for you soon for sale. Let me test this 1521 in it..if it does a little better I'll buy a new one and sell my 1518 1800kv. It's a solid motor on 6sOriginally posted by darryl whitman View PostLOL mid west area , Iowa, still looking at motors for my rivercat, just going 6s w/ 180 esc, hopefully , 1500 to 1600KV32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

I'm not sure what to say about that video lol. I'm not sure if he was on it....he didn't have much room. Looked like slow motion compared to what I'm used to seeing at this point lol. I'm sure I can wring more out of it. Be an interesting experiment. Does not matter, the mouth will be swappable anyway.Originally posted by keithbradley View PostShould be an interesting build. Just watched it again. He said he had a leopard 5692...I guess it's close enough but I do want to point out that from what I've seen...the sss motor looks a little nicer quality in its build. The winds look lice and the rotor is wrapped like a castle motor.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was
