So are the 4070's 8mm shafts? At least through the motor?

The 4070's are nice, I think 4050 or 4060's are well proven and tested in both, HPR 115 class and MHZ 45" Mystic. The 8mm shaft is definitely an advantage but when it comes to high rpm I'd prefer the shorter rotor.

        regards,
        Manuel

That's my next boat, I'll be watching your build for sure. What's his turn around time for ordering your hull? Are they running $500

Yes $499.00 to your door. and it took about a week and a half for mine but he hadn't started building them yet when I ordered mine. So I'm guessing about a week but ask him when you order it, his email is kkirchen@sbcglobal.net

                    Nice! I'll be following along.
I'll also be putting one together and making some runs in a few days.

                        A Little Progress! Pics

I already had a TFL Hyd. rudder set but the mounting pad on the boat was too small. So instead of spending another couple hundred, I cut the original mounting pad off the boat and used a chunk of billet that I had to make a new larger mounting pad. I'm not real worried about being totally scale, I'll probably shorten the rudder up about a inch. the first pic is the original padDSC02542.jpgDSC02585.jpgDSC02590.jpgDSC02586.jpgDSC02588.jpg

Looks like a sweet hull. Might have to have Keith bring me one come shootout time.

Of course I'm not upset...the hull is yours and the setup is totally up to you.

The rudder you put on it is suited for a much larger hull though. It would be more at home on a 60" cat, or possibly even a bit larger. I would definitely cut it down and also reduce the width of the rudder blade. Since you were able to make the mount adapter you used, perhaps you can machine a custom rudder blade that tapers down to a more appropriate size.
The rudders and drives that I have for these are perfect and I know the hull handles great with them. If you want some measurements of the rudder blade I will be happy to forward them to you.
