Yes it does and I pondered that but, the easier solution was to add wood. I've added it and just installed the motor mount. Tomorrow is stage 2 of motor mounting. I'll drill holes through the $8 mount, through the floor for 2 bolts to add later then a layer of CF/Kevlar. Tomorrow I also install the rear motor support. Pics if I have time... After that it's canopy filling and paint then mount turn fin and stuffing tube. I'll get'r done. Rudder and strut were mounted the other day.

Just need to mount the turn fin , paint the cowl (quick job) do a final epoxy coat with t-shirt. Some pics of the motor mount and plumbing, Very little rubber tubing being used.
I have a TP 4070 1250kv and a 4070 1440kv to try but, short on XT150 connectors....

MM is glued down and bolted through bottom with 6-32 brass hardware, MAS epoxy. No 30 minute epoxy was used in this build at all. Back to work and eat something...

Thanks, need to eat. Working on Turn fin mount. Angle aluminum is not 100% square compared to Box Aluminum. Pain in the butt.... went for a drive to get material yesterday and they had nada. I have some stuff here to make do.

Using a Dick Tyndall turn fin. It was a beatch trying to get strut depth to .755" like yours but, are you using a 1/4" strut? If not what is the height dimension of the 3/16" strut? I mean where the cable exits, not the entire height of the strut? To get the centerline of the drive cable on my strut I measured the height err/or the thickness of the strut and divided in 1/2 plus the natural 1/2" depth of the sponsons.

I need to know the dimension from bottom of hull to bottom of strut. Others have used 3/4" to 11/16" as a starting point.

Just making turn fin mount, drill tap holes hour or so, need to get some 8-32 bolts. Cut canopy (5 min) trim (1 hour), sand and fill 2 more hours. Spray bomb, 20 min. Final coat of epoxy 1 hour to do, sets hard in 24 hours. Scuff bottom with 400, 1/2 hour... Better get busy!

Does anyone know how to rig up a turn fin angle adjuster? I already glued in a 1/4" thick piece of aluminum to mount it to inside the hull adjacent to the turn fin, you know....

Bottom of 3/16" strut to bottom of hull is 0.825" (that's 21mm for Canadians).

Build a setup board from MDF to check angles from top and side view . Draw centerline on board then rest hull atop centerline with inner edge of turnfin resting against square edge of board. Bend bracket in vise to adjust with centerline.

I have 5/32" raised step ridepads on my sponsons and my strut depth is more shallow @ (bottom of strut to bottom edge of stern .750"). This really freed the boat up without being too loose.

Thank you but, no time for a special setup board. I do have a flat piece of MDF to setup the strut. Can't change sponsons at this time, too bad, big rush. Just doing some soldering and need to assemble the boat in morning.

I'l try to do the center line thing if the board is square enough. I also have a digital level to check if turn fin is straight. I'm pushing the envelope!!
AT least no more fab work, just bolt in and go, oops, the canopy needs a shot of spray bomb tomorrow too, lol... I'm crazy... Q-sport isn't until Thursday for me...

Just setting up the strut and need to install servo and motor and esc. Canopy all painted turn fin all done.

Packing up the GF's truck, good thing she's driving!! Still a bit of soldering too for other stuff..... bed by midnight...

This should be the only way anybody should apply epoxy finishing resin by hand!!! It works the best IMO

I have better luck applying the top coats of epoxy, un thinned, with a piece of old cotton T shirt.

I was able to see Ray's boat run yesterday during open water. It's a missle! Very impressed!
