You could also juggle your kV/voltage just a bit & achieve the same overall reliability & performance with a single 1400kv motor on 5s and still use the ESC you already have.

    19t 1400kv 550 watt 14.4v - I have run 5000mah 5s2p on them

Thanks for the good info. I may be new, but I dont usually hit myself in the head (intentionally) like your icon says....

For the Dewalt trial, I just drilled out the pinion I have to fit the motor shaft. Misplaced my calipers, so using a Bridgeport and a drill index, I crept up on the proper size. .159 diameter for anyone interested and who doesnt have a metric drill. With the spacer plate needed to get the bolt hole patterns correct, the pinion needs to be set forward on the motor shaft a bit. Not a big deal...

Dewalt motor was just ok. Fun for a while. Boat was hard to get out of the hole, but it also doesnt have trim tabs yet. Eventually, blew the gear which I knew was coming. So, The Tekin ESC and the really great condition stock outdrive will be going up for sale, along with the Dewalt motor and adapter plate to anyone whos interested. Totally willing to trade for brushless swag to outfit this hull for the next step.....20140510_112923.jpg20140510_112847.jpeg20140510_112856.jpg20140510_112934.jpg
