My first mono build....Fightercat bling rocket 26"

I've been having this hull for several months and never had any interest to build it because of all the cats I've built. But, I saw jowls video the other day and interest got sparked again. His looked blazingly fast. I was told by a few people this little hull can be a Badass little boat. So here I am. I started doing the inlay on it today. I have everything for it except a motor mount. I have a stock proboat mount I was thinking about using, but if someone has a nice little mount for it they wanna sell, let me know. My plans are a 6 pole proboat 1500kv motor on 4s with a proboat 60 amp esc. This setup hauls the mail in my son's 26" shockwave, so hopefully it'll do just as good with this boat.

I'm open tip any advice on this as its my first mono build. I have one thing that I'm not sure on at the moment. How do I seal the stinger to the transom? Anyway, here's some pics

    Here's most of my hardware.....

Carbon fiber is wetted out. Waiting in it to dry.

i tried the small turn fins with mine and it didn't corner well for me, but i ran a completely different setup. i ended up at med sized fins.
these boats can go damn fast. i ran leo 4074 2200kv on 4s 642 prop.

If you want, I have this CF motor mount/stringer assembly. I've built several of these hulls, they have surprisingly high speed potential and this mount is a perfect fit. PM me if you're interested.

            A couple ideas...
            b.jpgc.jpg

Seal the tube at the transom with epoxy thickened with a filler.

This is what I'm talking about, see how the hole in the stinger is huge a mongous....and that's 1/4" diameter brass tube in it. Trying to figure how that seals to the hull with the shaft going through it.

Looks like the stinger I had on my Pursuit, (RTR-bought used) make sure you align the stuffing tube with the center( bushing) inside the stinger. Install everything, then use silicone sealant to fill the gap. No two ways about it, water will gush in thru the stuffing tube and fill up your hull in no time. DSCN1827_1333.jpg DSCN1856_1360.jpg

.........or just get a Speedmaster stinger if you want a tight fit with your 1/4" stuffing tube.

Glad to see you going for this Trav. O-rings may be another option but a nice flexible silicone should leave you some movement.

I will be having the same issue on my mono hull, are there any other ideas that allow more stinger travel while still sealing the area? Good luck Travis.

i had a stinger just like that and i never sealed it with anything, nor did i get water in my hull "shrug"

I think i have an idea. I'll machine a spacer to fit into the stinger that the 1/4" tube slides into. Then in the hull I'll do a short flooded tube. Then I will epoxy a short piece of 9/32 tube in the end of the flooded tube...the end toward the motor. That will let the stuffing tube have a little front to rear and up and down movement. Sounds good in my head but won't know if it'll work till I try it. Kinda the same way I'm doing my cats. I may just go to a strut because I like the fact that I will have more adjustability.

Yes and no, he needs a strut not a stinger, in order for any vertical movement, a stinger's mounting plate would have to be loosened, and to ensure no leakage thru transom mounting holes.
Idea is good though, love to see the execution of the plan.
Good luck, will follow your build thread!
