Fantasm 12S

Hi everyone
After my previous 6S Fantasm/Zonda hull met its watery grave at over 85 mph i decided to build a much stronger one capable of handling a 12S setup that i had lying around for a while. The previous boat had my very first attempt at a carbon inlay and reinforced nose area, but i made a bad mistake by not continuing the carbon high enough over the seam and that was basically where it decided to part company and spit my electronic contents overboard zonda1.JPG[ATTACH=CONFIG]

That's one sick boat, never seen one throw up its entire contents. Any picks of the new boat?

I started with the bare fibreglass/carbon hull and added carbon to the nose and seam first before adding a further 2 layers of carbon throughout the entire hull. As the setup was going to be on 12s weight wasnt as much a priority as my old 6S 2200 kv TP setup.
Going in this thing would be 2 x 1521 Neu 1050 kv motors together with a pair of 240 Swordfish esc's and a shared cap bank. As i just wanted a SAW type hull i installed the shortest rudder system that i thought i could get away with (95 mm) with a twin water pickup. Also the rudder arm is pretty solid at 4mm together with some nice ball ends that Doc Wayne had discovered previously.

Amazingly enough most of the electronics were ok thanks to my good friend Doc Wayne getting to it and drying everything out. Both escs, motors and even the bec survived

Tight fit with the 1521 Neu motors and Mbp collets.

I wanted to run 1/4 Hughey flex shafts with 3/16 prop stubs and i found that i could make these 1/4 stingers work with a bit of modification.

Support arm was moved to fit hull as well as a lot of shortening of the vertical adjusting pad. Also the mounting bolt threads were tapped to 4mm and i made studs for easier mounting. The stingers do go to just above neutral height and i use shim washers located inside the pad for an easier way to properly adjust them and keep the arms supported. The stingers are set up at 1 degree negative for initial testing.

A pair of Swordfish 240 esc's and a shared cap bank handle the voltage supplied from a pair of Entropy 5800 mah 6S lipos in series.
Safety loop is on the deck as per Aussie Regulations, making this a legal SAW boat should everything go as planned. Spark arrestor also on the deck takes the edge of the battery connection

Thanks ... This is the third cat Ive built. It does get a little easier
