Looks good so far - agreed that the top deck overhang yields a small landing pad for the hardware feet. I ran into the same sitch in a recent MM build with Spd hardware. Had to lengthen the strut slot as well to get enough vertical adjustment to keep the prop from being oversubmerged.

I agree with Tim that a decent amount of rudder is key to avoiding spinouts - I like the Spd .21 because it's ultra-long and can be trimmed to suit. Then again there's other ways to skin (turn) a cat : (I did this to my beater MM for the L + R turn Offshore course at Winter Warmups). Worked great but lots of drag kept the speed down a tad

I was wondering about the slot in the strut, My meanie is running a UL-1 2030kv motor, m442 prop, turnigy ESC & Rev-Tech 6000mah 28-45c 2s bulletpacks in 4s series.

I started with the strut parallel & level with the sponsons, then started raising the strut. It maxed out at 3/8" above the sponson's, but it was still plowing water fighting to plane out so it wasn't enough. I just took a rat tail file and extended the slot in the strut another 3/8" , to the start of the knife edge on the strut. Now I have some room to play with it. Thanks

Taking some advise and swapped out the rudder for a Speedmaster 21. It's way too long, but the water pickup is high enough that Mark can trim as needed.

I said the same thing when I put that rudder on mine, but I got to tell you it helps a ton with spin outs. I did trim it a little til I saw no gain in performance. This hull digs a long rudder.

There are many ways to make hatch bolt systems. You can find many build threads here on OSE that explain it very well i know I have three thrrads myself. I like to take a 25mm x 13mm piece of cf plate and epoxy under the hatch. When dry I drill and countersink m3 bolts in them. I then put hatch on hull tape in place and drill the deck of hull itself using hatch as a guide. Finally gue a treaded piece of aluminum stock under deck where hole is. Bow you will have a flush clean look when hatch is bolted down still being able to tape if needed. other ways will work I just find this to be the cleanest and most effective it take some time to do. taping is always a good idea my head bolt systems seal the whole 100 percent and I still tape

Joel boat looks great sorry for jamming up thread hope you don't mind. take everyones advice on the long rudder it will make a huge difference. I have built about 5 or 6 MM and they all loved long blades.

Working on the finishing touches for this one, and will be shipping her out soon. All the water lines are in and I notched the battery trays for use with Velcro straps. ESC plate and servo/RX mount are in place.
