Everything arrived today, getting ready to put together a MM twin build thread. Hope you guys enjoy, and feel free to throw in some tips along the way!
The stock SV27 stingers are 72mm long, that being said, I extended them to 80mm, using X2 brass 1/4 tubes, the 7/32 drives will slide right in for a tight fitment, and bulletproof stinger. JB weld sealed.
CG-Transom and up 9.1/2", mounting the motor's @8" up.
looking good. love my mean machine. i have a converted nitro single. great handling hull, and the twin on youtube is really what got me hooked in fe boating. the mm is a great hull to do twins, you have sooo much room for a 29" boat.
did you make the stinger mount flat? i know the stock sv stinger mount has a slight angle to fight the torque steer the single prop puts on the sv so you have to make it square.
The tip and the end of the stinger has a squared tip on the inside, which is now not an issue, I extended the stinger with 1/4" tubes, I'm about to order the strut drive fittings for 1/4". I thought I had two, wrong size. With the setup im using, space is limited, and can't make one mistake! The leopards are 4072's. 2200kv. I will run 4-5s depending. The Motors are taking up a huge amount of room alone. I had to cut out 4" slots to fit these motors, Its going to be tricking getting it setup. So far its going smooth. Waiting on a call from a member on here tomorrow for a few tips on this hull. Heres more progress...
Motor's mounted, Had to reverse the left side strut bracket to counter the left hand lean. Drives went really good, still doing tweaks and adjustments. Looking forward to mounting the rudder and servo tray tonight!
I'm afraid your cg is going to he way too forward, unless you are mounting batts to the rear of.the boat. Also what did you mean the drive leaned to the left? So you had to flip the mount?
Yes I flipped the left side mount, and I might swap the lipos to the esc mounts, and run the esc's in the sponsons. I think these motors are overkill, and 4s packs are going to be hard to fit, so that in mind, I have decided to go with a 3s setup, and a pair of smaller 36mm motors
