Thanks. The low speed handling was as I expected. The goal is to see how fast I can push this little hull. All in all I'm very please with the maiden given that this is a new hull, the drives are a prototype brainchild of KeithBradley, and I've never built a cat this small before. Everything just worked, and worked well. And this was with only a couple Zippy 2s batteries. The 3s Dinogys are next....Originally posted by MarkF View PostNice job on your boat joel. Having your cg too far forward can cause boat hop. Sometimes we add a touch of negative or down on the strut angle to help it from blowing over. On yours Joel you could probably use a little shim behind the strut if neccesary. But bottom line is sometimes you just have to go for it and see if it wants to lift off. Moving cg forward helps and is neccesary but causes an ill behaving boat at slow speed. It's a balance act and your going to have to except your going to blow off getting there. The sooner you figure that out the sooner your going to go faster.

Oh, and unfortunately I know a little about high speed blow-overs....

Holy Crap Joel, it's kinda hard to see but it looks like not only does it have hang time but it has altitude too
I think I can see it go past that garage on the bank behind it about mid level of the garage!

Yeah, and squeezing the trigger out of frustration after take off didn't help either..Originally posted by flraptor07 View PostHoly Crap Joel, it's kinda hard to see but it looks like not only does it have hang time but it has altitude too

Here's one of my blow overs with my big T Hydro on 10s, good thing it landed right side up because it sepperated the hull all the way across the front and across the transom. you can also see the tape hanging off when I get it back to shore. I would have lost it if I hadn't been so lucky! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQVFAPL1MFs

Went out last night, but no cameraman so I set a GoPro on a big rock just to get a few 3s passes in. The batteries are run down just a bit in this video and it's running a little wet...but you get the idea. Next time, fresh charge, I'll air it out a bit more, and hopefully have someone to record...

It looks fantastic, high speeds in a package that size is an attractive combination. I suppose there is some top secret stuff in regards to setup if your going to be the fastest one out there but I really liked the drives and am wondering if using a fixed neutral stinger is working out well with the boat. No worries is everything is underwrap, but I have been following this with great interest since the beginning. The simplicity of the design is truly noteworthy. I want this one to win!

The KBB drives are working perfectly. So far the cg adjustment with the batteries is all that is needed. I had them pretty far forward for it's first run on 3s. The rudder is too short for sport use, I'll figure out something after I determine what speeds I can reach.Originally posted by Fella1340 View PostIt looks fantastic, high speeds in a package that size is an attractive combination. Hi Joel,
I just bought this boat :)
Never owned a twin setup....
How did you connect the two 120ams esc to the rx?
Did you just plug an "Y" cable adapter into the throttle channel and then cut off one the ESC positive wire?
Did you disable the BEC function on one of the speed controllers?
Best.
Christian.

Yes, Y adapter with the red wire removed on one side.Originally posted by czegard View PostDid you just plug an "Y" cable adapter into the throttle channel and then cut off one the ESC positive wire?
