Beautiful !!!!!!!!! Now you will have to add a locator pad to keep nose cone attached when hitting a wave. This prevents nose cone from shifting left or right. Just copy original UL1 design or what ever works.

I had to add a few more pieces of 1/8 to support the deck. The deck will have the shape of the hull currently on the outside, and the modified UL-1 cowl on the inside.

I glued the deck pieces on (one at a time) by first putting a light coat of resin on the top of the frames, then a heavy coat completely on the back side of the deck, and then a heavy coat dabbed onto the top of the frames. The weights and clamps were kind of a circus act, but it worked. I’m sure others have much more eloquent ways to do this.

I started doing the rough sanding. Everything is flush at this point. It’s starting to look like a boat.

Fun watch, should be interesting to see how you layout the components to get CG forward.

Only time I enjoy that red is when it's behind my Uhaul orange boats...

Hey, what do you guys use to fill imperfections? Eventually I'm going to have to hide those seams in the front and the seam that will go all the way around for the top deck.

                        Epoxy?
                        Epoxy mixed with ????
                        Wood filler?

                        Thanks.

West systems epoxy with 407 filler is my choice for most... It's a nice compromise between strength and sand-ability...

If you want to try some I have plenty at the house....

                              No Worries Pete,

I have 406, 407, and 410 fillers. I will give you a little sample of each of them. Let's try and hook up Saturday or Sunday morning.

Microballoons and finishing resin. You can also use fine sawdust mixed with finishing resin.
