How's the build going? What do you think of the quality of the hull and hardware?
My next build, TFL Ariane 2 Carbon Fiber

I haven't done a lot yet, made a servo plate like the one in the Popeye and finished mounting the motor oh and soldered all the ends on the ESC. That's about it for now, I'll be getting after it in the next day or so and get some more pics up. The quality of the hull is top notch, fit and finish is really nice TFLs hardware is very nice too. You really can't beat TFLs products for the $, I don't know of anything better at this price point...Originally posted by skeeler View PostHow's the build going? Can anyone suggest a motor kv and corresponding prop for running the Ariane 2 on 6S?Originally posted by skeeler View PostI'm still a newb with boats; what kv and prop would you recommend for this boat on 6S.
Also, since I mostly have 4S batteries, I could run 8S without buying any, but 6S would require me to buy some 2S batts. Is the 36-inch Ariane too small for an 8S build? If not, what kv and prop would you suggest?
Thanks.Revolt 30, River Jet, Southampton Tug, Outcast 6S BLX, 8ight-E, Ten-SCBE, 22 2.0.
'09 Miata.
Ibanez basses and guitars. Mapex drums, Zildjian cymbals.

I'm putting this one together with a Leopard 4082 2000kv which is a little high for 6s (I already had it) and I'm going to start with a X447 prop. There's not anybody with any experience on the Ariane so it's going to be a learning curve to see what this hull wants. I've got a Neu 1521 1860kv coming and I also just got some TP 4060 1450kv motors. So I have a pretty good selection of motors to tryOriginally posted by skeeler View PostCan anyone suggest a motor kv and corresponding prop for running the Ariane 2 on 6S?

Finished, first run video!
Here's a short run video with a little incident with a buoy, luckily no damage at all not even a scratch!

Looks to be running pretty nice,
Also what S cells was that run on ?

It's on 6s and I finished it last night and went to spin it up for the first time and had a brand new Leopard 4082 2000kv bad right out of the can. So I stuck a Tacon 4074 2150kv I had laying around in it just to run it today, that's why it was screamin' 47,730 rpmOriginally posted by lenny View PostLooks to be running pretty nice,

So yeah all in all I was pretty happy with the way it ran.
And thanx for the high score on the accrobatics

Sweet video,
Just ordered my Ariane 2 from Monica today (I am assuming a 6 week wait) Got the fiberglass hatch with no lettering, 40mm motor mount.
I see you painted yours. Do you have to paint them or can you leave the carbon fiber the way it is? I love the look of carbon fiber.
Thanks for your time and help,

I'm sure you'll be happy with this boat, That video was the first time in the water and it ran that good just guessing on setup! I think there's a lot left in it because I don't even have the right motor in it yet. I didn't paint it, it's still CF I just made patterns from the original design decals that came on it and did them in Neon Orange vinyl I still have some left to do. A CF boat in the water is hard to see (especially upside downOriginally posted by Varooom View PostSweet video,
