Oscar, if your Backlash is stern hopping....you can move COG more rearward to correct. If your Backlash grabbing or hopping on sponsons ...you can also move COG more rearward and/or run Strut less deep to correct. But you know this...

When building a FE Whiplash, most people build in COG too far forward.
I may have my COG too far forward as well :-). I was wanting to get a run in before it started raining again, just couldn't wait!!! It's supposed to rain here the next few days so that'll give me time to go back over and correct things.

Very nice boat. Great build. Just wondering with these kits are they balsa frame with ply outter shell? or is it all ply? What thickness is frame and shell wood?

            Thanks! From their website:
All skins are 1/16'' 3-ply birch aircraft grade plywood, and the frames are 1/8'' 3 ply birch plywood.

Well Detox got me thinking about the cowl so I went ahead and started on it. I filled the side with 2 part foam and started cutting. Added a couple layers of thin fiberglass mat and epoxy. Will have to wait for paint to come in.

And here's what it looks like. Also got turn fin from Bob English on and did a little adjusting on strut, it's running good!

That looks good. Have you tried the clear hockey tape that OSE sells? It is good, sticky, pliable tape. A little wider than electrical tape.

Got a run in today at the race track. Running a 7014/2 375, 7 laps about 90 secs took out 4700mah. I'll start here at the races and see where we stand :-).

Well the weekend of racing is over. The boat ran perfect, I need to find someone that can drive it!! I ended up 1st in 2 heats, hit a buoy in 2 heats, and blew over in the shootout round. But not bad for the first time it's been up against other very fast boats in the RC Boat World Championship series. I did end up with a little damage, one of the buoys I hit, I dragged it 1/2 the course and ended up tearing off the bottom of the nose. It finished the day wrapped in duct tape! The most I put back into the lipo's was 75% and that was with 1 start lap, 6 racing laps, 1 cool down lap.

The nose piece was found embedded in a buoy.

Here's the data from the MGM, shootout heat. I attempted to make a left correction and it flipped.

                                And damage to the nose
