Venom 34 inch Segad cat build question

Ok here we go. I just picked up a used 34 inch Venom segad(king of shaves) cat. I ran it for the first time a couple days ago and was shall we say not very impressed with the top speed of the boat. I was using the stock setup and using dual 3S 3400mah 30c batteries. I think it reached a blistering 20-25 mph. I have been reading up on this thing and if i want to dump a bunch of money on this thing im looking at speeds of 40-55 mph. Anyway to the build question I have seen that there are single center drive engine Segads(King of Shaves) boats out there, Have any of you guys attempted or know someone who has converted the twin engine design and made it a single engine center drive like many other boats. I want to convert mine and it does not look like it would be that hard but just wanted to know if anyone has and if so what to look out for and are there any concerns that i should look out for.

The single motor King of Shaves or Segads you have seen are the 58" gas model thats been converted to FE. I have not seen the 34" eKOS converted to a single center drive. If you are set on doing a single motor setup, I would pick up a bare genesis (daytona) hull and use that as my single screw boat. Im actually thinking about doing the reverse of what you are thinking. I have the gas version of the KOS that is now FE, and I want to make it a twin screw. But for the amount of work that will take, Im seriously considering purchasing the super daytona for that build, and retiring the KOS hull as a shelf queen. Good luck! If I were you, I'd keep the eKOS a twin.

Hey thanks fir the info WhatRlaws4 but I am still going ahead with the single screw build I have already removed all of the dual drive parts and shipped it off to Randy at BBY Racing to do the glass work for me. I will post pics of the progress so far in the build tomorrow. If you or anyone that you know looking for stinger outdrives I have both of them with the interior mounting plates.

They are the factory Venom stingers. I have everything for dual drive minus the ESC's and the drive shaft's they were torn up pretty bad

i Agentorange, Attached photos of my single drive King of Shaves. Much better than twin drive and gets speeds of 52.6MPH. The twin drives that come with the original boat are low quality and a pain in the a##. My boat is still winning races in LSO so I am very happy with
                it. Regards

Thats awesome Norman when I was looking up on how to do get this done your boat came up and was the inspiration for my build. I am using the same OSC drive h/w. what shaft diameter did you go with. I went with the 187 diameter shaft.

Hi, Yes I used 187 shaft diameter. I have not had a single problem with the conversion as I only run 4S and will continue to do so. How is
your boat coming along. Did you finish it? Regards

Well I just removed all of the dual drive h/w. I also took.out the radio tray and motors. I shipped the bare hull to Randy at BBY Racing and he is going to do all of the glass work that needs to be done. it's going to take about 3 weeks to get it back but I cant wait to see it. what setup are you using. I was going to use the same basic setup that is in my Mystic but put a bigger ESC so I can use bigger batteries

I first got the boat mostly gutted and I had to do a little work on it to get the motor mounts out and plug the holes that are not going to be used in the single setup. I put tape on the deck to keep the epoxy off foe the CF Liner.

                              This is the liner installed.

I built some Carbon fiber pads to mount the motor mount and the rear motor support and epoxied them in the boat.

Installed a strut and rudder from OSE.

I have to say I like that Venom put aluminum in the transom. It made the install go easy.
