Fixing Miss Vegas (FE)

I dug up the build thread from when I converted my Gen 2 Vegas. Maybe something in it can help. I'd particularly look into reinforcing the motor mount/hull contact area to counteract any motor shaft/ flex misalignment created by "trampoline bottom" (yup I made up that term)

I also took the time to mod the cowl to make taping up easier; there's no way taping up the stock cowl looked like it was going to be watertight

I thank you for pulling that link up. The "Trampoline Bottom" is what did me in on the first set up I built as I did not account for it flexing like a body builder on roids. I have a thin piece of 1/8 balsa I was thinking of installing in the motor area. More than likely I will lay up some more cloth and resin. I gave up trying to get the hatch to be a watertight. I went for a scale look and put in mesh screening in the air scoop. I have my electronics waterproofed, well not the batteries. Not sure what I will do with the hatch but I know I hate the stock hatch locks with a passion.

Cut out the hull plate to strengthen the motor mount are of the hull. got the custom made motor mount glassed in and everything installed now. Will hopefully get out to test run in the next day with some video. The torque roll issue should be fixed as the hull no longer flexes when the boat is WOT.

Here I go butting in again but I believe most will agree that you'll be on the safe(er) side if you go to 5.5's on the motor/esc/batteries and jettison the Dean's connectors.

I was hoping to use my sv27 set up for a short 4s 1 minute test run. Maybe I better pull my 5s tunnel hull set up so nothing will get de-soldered.
