Quick mock up of interior components. I haven't modeled the ESCs yet though. And eventually I will make a flat floor for everything to sit on, but I wanted to make sure everything fits first

The leopard 4082 1600kv on 6s with seaking is a serious combo. You'll easily make 65mph with that setup provided hull stays nice and light. As Fluid said 45c is the way to go I use zippy 40c packs their 5000mah packs are fine with this setup.

Don't listen to the guys at rccountry they only talk to people who buy traxxas cars and planes.. their boat dept sucks.
Your drawings look great and if you take your time and ask questions here I'm sure you can make an awesome boat.
I'm so tired of hobby shops that tell people its too hard to scratch build and to just buy Rtr crap.. that's the death of the hobby right there...

Unfortunately I think you are right. The guy basically told me not to go with twin motors because they don't make counter rotating props. He would be surprised to see some of the boats on here.

I was big into rock crawling years before they carried any parts. I went in with my custom Toyota scale truck and he told me it was trash and would not preform well off-road. Now they carry kits to convert the tamiya pickup to the same design I had then. The guys there are hypocrites and only talk about what they are "in to" and ignore everyone else

Question for some of you experienced builders out there. How much would you estimate the hull (empty) will weigh?

Resin infusion with carbon fiber. Somewhere between 4 and 8 plys. Probably 2/2 twill 3K. Hull is 45" long.

I am trying to do some buoyancy calcs to see how deep the hull will sit in the water. Any blatant estimates will help.

Made a few more tweaks to the hull. The strakes have been doubled in size from proto 1 & 2. Mainly for manufacturing purposes, the larger surfaces should be more fabric friendly when I am vacuum bagging. Also it should help to decrease chine walking at the higher speeds. I feel like I am reaching the end of my home brew naval architecture here. A lot of research is in the books, now some development needs to happen.

Not a huge deal, but I am trying to figure out how she will sit at rest. If the boat turns out to be 15-17 lbs it will sit at the exact level I want. Any heavier and the thing will look awkwardly low in the water.

Anyone have any ideas on what a 45" carbon fiber boat with 2 motors and 4 batteries weighs? I searched everywhere but none of the hull builders seem to list the weight in the specs. So I have nothing to compare mine to.

Contact Doug Smock. He has the fastest and most stable P Mono i have ever witnessed run (wet but fast). I wish i knew what hull it was?

No that is not the hull. The hull i am talking about looks older and is painted Red and White.

The hull has been sent out to the foam cutter. I should have a physical model within the week.

Plans are to paint with an epoxy foam coating, then sand and polish to mirror finish. Make the female mold from that out of fiberglass. Then make the hull with gelcoat and 3K CF in the female mold. All will be vacuum infused. Luckily my friend has been working at a carbon fiber parts manufacturing shop for a year and does this kind of stuff everyday.

Here's the foam models, top and bottom. It's a 2 piece design, 2 foam parts, 2 molds, 2 final parts. They will be mated in the end to complete the hull production.

Time for a little sanding and then the real fun can begin.
