sorry my question is where do you get those big motors and why what brand name is best in motors?

The motors are neu 1527-1y. You can get them here at ose. Look up castle creations web page and then neu motors, it will give more specs. They are one of the better motor manufacturers.

Thanks so much! I got the stay-brite and this was my trial on a piece of cut off flex. It's hard to really see but the last 1/2" to 3/4" is soldered. It worked first time!! Have been looking for the right flux, solder to solder the ends of flexes to make them a little sturdier. Thank you!!

I just sold a set of 8mm to 3/16 I actually just mailed them today lol but anyways no problem bro. It's a pain in the ass to solder flexe shafts. sometimes it can take me a few times of applying the liquid flux and heat a few times. If you have any problems let me know.

Mistakes.....the art of hiding ones mistakes is or the better you are at it, the higher the mark of the Craftsman.

From my pop's.....you are always learning, when you stop you are dead.

I use Brazing solder it is a little hotter and stronger. Also it takes a hotter flame.

Thank you randy, I appreciate your interest in my build, guess I'm on the right track. I haven't been around the fe boats that long but I can say that most of my "learning curve" has come from all you folks that have taken the time to post builds and reply to others inquires. So I guess it's a hats off to you all for getting me here.

Had a good day, ran 8s and then wanted to step up to 9s. I don't know if I threw a blade or if I hit a fish?? Have to order some parts.
