    fc super daytona

Well here is my fightercat super daytona that I am currently in the process of building. I bought the hull a few months ago and have taken time to reinforce some of the thinner areas of the hull. I purchased HOR racing struts/rudder built for the hull and I am impressed with the rudder quality and function. The motors have also been purchased and I will be running 10s1p per motor. I will be running x455 props for the maiden on 5s...then 10...and finally 12s. Motor mounts will be those found in the OSE store designed for 56mm motors. As far as batteries go I check out hobbypartz often and would really like anything over 40c 5000 mah 6s packs. I still need all of the small parts and look forward to all of your input. Thanks for looking at my build guys. Oh and the stickers were bought at a skate shop the big ones cost 4 bucks each lol all are made by 3m and quality is fantastic. I am a wakeboarder so this boat will look very at home next to my other water sport toys.

--will try and get you guys some better pics, my phone is only so good. In the backround of my pics are some of my other projects, one is a little genesis that is completely pink...yes pink and will be the next project. I live in NY so the maiden will be in January I'm thinking, some nice cool water for the motors/escs

Motors are leopard 5692 730kv on 10-12s, nothing too crazy. Boat has only been painted reinforced and rudder installed. Did a float test today just to make sure. Pics of the inside coming this week.

Looks great in red with the vinyl you put on it!
I would reccomend making carbon fiber mounts for the motors...much nicer than generic mounts.

I like it. I will keep a eye on this build. What esc's are you running? I plan on building with this same hull. This will be my first full build.

I have decided to use the swordfish 240 escs. The 300 has some impressive specs but i haven't read many reviews on it so im going with the better known 240. I have heard the etti escs are fantastic. Btw twisted bruiser said in an old thread he made templates for his carbon motor mounts and bulkhead would be a nice addition to the assortment of uninstalled parts infront of my boat haha. Thanks so far guys and i agree with keith this boat would look great with carbon mounts.

What motor mounts do you plan on using? I hope that you try what I did with mine. I really helped with the integity of the hull. and it is a place that really needs it as that is where the mass of the boat is at. I hope you enjoy the flex shaft braces that I sent you. If you need more parts made please let me know.

Here are pictures of the inside of my boat as of right now. Inside you'll see 11s1p per side zippy 5000 mah 40c packs. I refreshed my mhz nomad 41" cat recently and added the keith bradley black lines, and inside you'll see leopard 4082 1600kv motors, seaking escs, x447.

Alright so here we have pictures of the rear showing my x457 c/r props, running hughey c/r 1/4 flex stepped down to 3/16. I have built series connectors for the batteries recently. I am running a bluebird 28A servo that pumps out 390 oz/in of torque at 7.2v, needless to say steering is taken care of. I ordered carbon kevlar orange for the bottom of the hull and I think it looks good with the orange anodized servo.

Motor mounts are the OSE 5692 aluminum mounts, fit and finish is just great. I cut down the base a little bit and epoxied them in place, the aluminum base has curves in it so you can get a seriously strong hold if you epoxy over them. Also as you can see the esc looks pretty interesting, I am running the hifei capacitor bank with 63v caps and as an added bonus there is a no spark post that allows you to charge the caps for a few seconds before plugging everything in.

I polished the rudder and also the struts to make them look better, the brushed finish was fine but I got bored

As you can see I used align straps for the batteries and then straps for the escs, I used the OSE long carbon fiber battery mounts and after roughing them up I don't think They'll become loose from the bottom of the hull.

Also with a close eye you can see the mhz oiler/thrust washer bearing setup I am using to smooth out my driveline and take some load off the motor bearings.

@Twisted-Thanks a lot for making the flex supports for me out of carbon, Twisted does nice work guys and his build already has shown us that. Maiden should be soon I will start on 6s, check for water then....gulp run 11s Oh as for the servo mount, I got lazy so I just bolted together two of the fightercat carbon fiber mounts and put a few spacers inbetween to increase surface area for the epoxy to grab, I lifted the whole boat by the mount so I think I'll be good. The boat has had extra fiberglass cloth and then an extra layer of carbon kevlar thrown down, weight increased a little bit but the hull is tremendously stiff.

***In some of the pictures you can see where I screwed up. I am running water cooling through the bottom of the hull, I had a few issues mounting the stingers because my template was a bit off so I had to use a little bit of silicone sealant at the rear. I only really had one or two screws for each stinger causing a problem, I went a bit overboard. I am happy with the boat so far I can't wait to get this thing on the water! Its extremely cold in NY right now but hopefully she'll see water soon.

boat was float tested, I removed the silicone sealant and filled the holes/re drilled. These imperfections would haunt me in my dreams lol.

I find I sleep better at night when my boats are feeling better also. I had to do the samething with the rudder on my boat. Part of the learning curve for me.

So it would appear I'm not the most creative person out there lol. I got the little genesis for a deal awhile ago, just put some paint and stickers on. Building the boat for my nephew when he visits, ths is going to be a rescue boat on all other occasions. Anyway just base red, lacquer clear over 5 bucks worth of stickers, all in all cost like 90 bucks hull included. Still in the low 30s here in NY so maiden has once again been pushed off. I am becoming more familiar/comfortable with the boats innards so the first outing should go more smoothly.

Little genesis will have a very low kv motors and will run only like 15-20mph (my nephew is really young). I am desperately in need of a rescue boat and since this is a catamaran hull adapting a pvc pipe system to the hulls exterior should be easy/stable on the water.
