Will you be running at dusk some times,
I was thinking of some scale lighting for the thing.
It would look like a rocket exhaust if you added a couple LED there,
    And a bow light.
I really don't run my boats at dusk but I have been toying for a while with the idea of adding LED's. Still undecided on this matter.

Well I had a chance today to throtle up the boat. Here is an image of today's 4 minutes run data log with the 59mm 3 blade prop. I did run it more agressively this time around. Max temp 146 and average temp 104.7. I can now spot on the graphics some amp spikes above 100; the higher spike rose up to 115A.

I am an E/T guy, but that Th. curve still doesn't look right, if 1.5 is neutral an 2.0 is wide open your running 1/2 Th.
Is that a 50 meter long pond?

                  Hello Folks,

First of all, I want to thank everyone that chimed in and helped me take this first FE project to a happy ending. Specially Tyler and Dana Wilson. Here is video so you can all take a look of the boat in action. Here it goes!

Not a very good video because it is my first one and I had no previous experience on how to follow the boat with my iphone attached to my chest with a device I made. The pond is definitely small for WOT so the max speed could not be reached at any point of the video.

This is the data for this run on a CNC 5914350 3 Blade Magnalium 7075 propeller (59mm diameter 3.25 total pitch"):

                  Average temp: 115.9 - Max Temp: 136.7
                  Average rpm: 24509 - Max rpm: 44773
                  Max current: 171.4A

Looks like a pretty clear picture from what I can see of the boat.
Next time put it on your tx and use the tx like a radar gun to follow the boat,
It works pretty good for me so far.
But there is always room for improvement for me.

Yeah, next time I'll change the camera orientation for a panoramic visual and see how it goes. I'll post the device I made to hold the iPhone while driving. I already modified it to fit the iPhone horizontally instead of vertically.

Here is the holder I designed for to hold my iPhone while I run the boat. Pretty comfortable you almost forget you are filming. It is made of silicone tubes and plastic irrigation T's.

Hey man hows it going. I am in final assembly and just wondering how much this boat should weigh in at ready to run with batteries. I am approaching 20 lbs. Is that in the ball park of what yours weighs? Should I be worried? How much did yours weigh ready to run? If I only use two batteries I weigh in at 17 lbs. What do you think?

                            Hi zx11976r,

My boat is in the 15.5lbs range fully loaded including batteries. I think you are still good if you have not gone above the 20lbs mark. Do you have new pics on your thread? You are going to need a big propulsion cone generated by the prop you use to push that weight. I would start with a 57mm prop (x457) in your case and then move up in size if needed and watch the amps draw.
